Two-Minute Drill is a free daily football game: one real NFL late-game drive a day, and you call the plays. It is an independent, fan-made project, built by a football fan who wanted to know what it's really like to make the calls that decide games, and how often the "obvious" call is actually the right one.
Why we built it
Every Sunday, fans argue about the last two minutes: why did they run there, why didn't they use a timeout, why kick the field goal now. Two-Minute Drill lets you make those calls yourself, in the real situations, against the real teams, and then shows you how your calls compare with the best ones and with how NFL play-callers actually call those spots.
What makes it different
- Real situations. Every spot is a real moment from the 2023 to 2026 NFL seasons, playoffs included.
- Real plays. Every snap is a real NFL play of the call you made, from the same kind of situation.
- Honest grades. Calls are graded on win chance from simulating the rest of the game for every option, not on whether the play happened to work.
- Real results. The ranks and stats you see come from the people who actually played. No numbers are seeded, simulated or made up.

The data
The game is built on public NFL data from nflverse: play-by-play, player participation and Next Gen Stats charting, and FTN charting (FTN Data via nflverse, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0). Thanks to the nflverse maintainers and contributors, who make football analytics open to everyone.
